Freebie — vector elephant sticker
by ann storer on Jun.24, 2009, under Featured, Freebies
I told you I’d return, and now I’m back with a quick little freebie for you!
I received a sticker making kit as a gift a few weeks ago, and you know I can’t leave that alone. Just for fun, I wanted to create a set of obnoxiously cute animal stickers to paste around town and give to friends. I’m in the midst of making a hippo to go along with the elephant, and more may come later depending on interest. It’s fun to take a break from the serious stuff once in a while. Hope you enjoy this! There’ll be more to come shortly.

The original .ai file is included with the download, so if you’d like to see how I did this it might help you out. Please keep in mind that this freebie is for personal use only; if you’d like to use it commercially somehow please contact me first!
A much delayed update.

No, I’m not dead, just overwhelmed with work! Can’t complain too much about that, especially when the latest couple projects I’ve had are of that rare fun variety. I promise to stop neglecting the website soon; I’m actually working on a really cool new freebie set for you all. I’ll try and get it up here in the next week or so. Till then, be well and do good work. :) Be back again shortly!
Butterfly Icon Set
by ann storer on Mar.03, 2009, under Featured
Today I’m happy to announce that I’ve just finished my first set of icons available for purchase here on Flourish. This set of five custom icons includes three lovely spring butterflies with a pair of leaf-shaped forward and back buttons for use on your website, blog, or desktop. Since the original .ai file is included in the download, you can also use them for elements in any design project your heart desires — business cards, poster designs, even website banners or buttons. I think these would look great in an online store featuring seasonal merchandise, or just about any website that needs a little sprucing up for spring.
This set is now available over at my Dreamstime account, here. Thank you so much for your support, and enjoy!
Ornate Patterns by GoMedia released
by ann storer on Feb.11, 2009, under Ramblings
The guys over at GoMedia have just released another awesome new vector pack — this one is near and dear to my heart, as it’s full of those swoopy, flourishy pattern elements that I love. If you have need of really good, detailed vector resources, you should definitely check out their site. Get there soon and you can even get a free sample from this pack! I tried out their new vector wings set that was just released the other day, and I must say I’m very impressed. Very crisp, clean work with tons of attention to detail is a hallmark of good design, and these guys have nailed it with every pack I’ve tried from them.
Spring Iris
by ann storer on Feb.08, 2009, under Featured, Ramblings
With winter (hopefully) winding down, I find myself drawing more springtime themed stuff lately — flowers, birds, and other sunshiny bright things. It keeps away the winter blahs. This one is based around a vector drawing of an iris I did a while ago in Adobe Illustrator, exported into Photoshop and revamped. The textures I used in the background are from PlayingWithBrushes, a friend of mine from Flickr. If you’re looking for a great free texture resource, you need to check out her work. She has a huge collection of amazing images, all available for download to anyone who wants them.
The flourishes around the flower are a freebie by me; if you’re looking for something in that vein you can check out my post here, or just hit the freebies section on the site. Enjoy!
